Nathan and I had a garage sale in April. We were so excited that we made quite a bit of money to help buy new blinds for our house. We had just gotten our whole house painted, using our tax return, and we refused to put up the nasty mini blinds that were there before. So, with the success of our garage sale we were able to step up into the world of 2" blinds!!
The next week the kids were being cute as ALWAYS and Nathan being the great dad he is said get the camera. "Okay honey, but where is the camera?" After suggesting a hundred places for me to look we decided to think back to the last time we had it. As I flashed through all my memories with the camera the last time came to me. The garage sale!! Nathan had the kids riding their bikes and again being the good dad he is said let's get some pictures of this. I remember taking some GREAT pictures and setting the camera down at the "head" table. My heart sank as I frantically looked through everything that possibly remained from the sale. (One thing you need to know about me is anything that I own is up for sale and I mean anything!) Well, since I basically sold everything I own, hence the reason why we made some money, there was not much to look through. Since other things were taken from my garage sale (yes, I know what you took lady with the short hair and glasses that had your friend come over to distract me) we came to the conclusion that it was now in the hands of a garage sale thief. Now, I really don't like to jump to conclusions but the writing is all over the wall.
I ran to the computer to make sure that I had downloaded pictures recently. Our trip to San Fran in March was on there so I was relieved I had been a good girl and downloaded. I will put up some pics of our trip later. As I am organizing all the pictures tonight to make albumns for the kids, I go to retrieve the awesome pictures of Baylie's fabulous princess party that I threw for her 4th birthday. Wait, where are the pictures? You guessed it in my camera!!! Which is being enjoyed by a new family!! So, I promise I am a good mom and celebrate my child's birthday I just have NOTHING to prove it!! Although, I do have some great friends that care about my children and brought cameras to the party. Does anyone have any record of the nice party I threw Baylie? I want to show them to her when she is a teen and says I never did anything nice for her. I need the proof!! So, send them on! Please. :(
There is one happy ending to the story. I was very distressed to tell my parents, who bought me the camera, that it had been stolen. They were completely cool about it. I keep forgetting that I am an adult now and things I would have heard 10 years ago from my parents like, "you need to pay more attention to your things", etc. are now kept to themselves. It did help that my dad had his camera stolen from him a few months ago so, what could he say! Well, since they were struggling on what to get Nathan for his 30th birthday an opportunity for a great gift appeared and they jumped on it. So, I am very happy to say that we now have a new upgraded model of our old camera that we absolutely LOVE, and we were able to still use the garage sale money for our blinds! Thanks Mom and Dad! Now, I can have covered windows and share pictures with you all of Nathan playing his new Wii, yes I said Wii that he got from his parents! How cool is that! Man, if these are the kind of gifts you get when your 30 then bring it on!!!
